Maseru – Thaba-Tseka district will host a three-day annual heritage festival from Friday as part of celebrating Lesotho’s Golden Independence Jubilee.
The festival has been organised by Basotho Car Rental Company in collaboration with Thaba-Tseka District Council, and will be held for the first time to instil love for Basotho culture and heritage.
The Company’s Marketing Executive Mr. Pokane Tsietsi said the event is intended to promote culture and preserve Basotho’s heritage and promote the country’s economy, particularly in the district.
Mr. Tsietsi said activities to be performed during the festival include local and international music, traditional food and marketing of services and products by different companies based in the district, saying the Company decided to take the festival to Thaba-Tseka because it is located at the centre of Lesotho.
He said the aim is to hold the festival annually, as the district is growing rapidly and needs annual nurturing hence the need for events of this nature.
