Maseru – Lesotho Football Association LEFA has decided not to suspend seven players who failed to report to the national team Likuena call up last year.
LEFA Secretary General Mr. Mokhosi Mohapi said the Association’s National Executive Committee has decided to respect a decision by some of those players to retire from international football, but will never spend money on these players for their development.
He said the players are Ts’epo Seturumane, Ts’epo Lekhooana and Basia Makepe, while Ts’oanelo Koetle has since made it clear that he would be available for national team duty have since smoked a peace pipe.
Mr. Mohapi added that Hlompho Kalake has since withdrawn his earlier statement and would be considered in future and investigations are still ongoing regarding Jane Thabants’o to clarify some outstanding issues.
Likuena is currently holding three-day weekly camps in preparation for the African Nations Championship as well as the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers for Cameroon 2017.
