Leribe – Metropolitan Lesotho in Leribe has handed has over an oxygen concentrator machine to a patient at Motebang Hospital in Hlotse.
Speaking at the event, the District Administrator Mr. Mokhabelane Morahanye said the Metropolitan has shown compassion and thanked them for helping those in need, urging the company to continue helping Basotho in desperate situations.
Metropolitan Lesotho Regional Manager North, Mr. Mashape Mosala said it took the company about a month to get the machine which costs about 13 000 Maloti, adding that the act is part of the organisation’s corporate social investments for Basotho.
Meanwhile, the District Nursing Manager of Motebang Hospital, Mrs. ‘Mathaabe Ranthimo said the oxygen concentrator machine is for a 21 year-old patient Khethiwe Hokoane, who has a rare disease that causes her lungs not to function properly without the supply of oxygen.
The recipient’s mother Mrs. ‘Macalothe Hokoane thanked Metropolitan for the generous gesture, saying it going to be easy for her daughter to live a normal life, as from the age of 17, she could no longer go to school or take long trips as she would run out of oxygen.
The event was graced by the presence of the hospital staff and executive management of the district ministries and departments.
