Maseru – Lesotho Football Association LEFA will hold the World Coaches Course in Maseru on July 13th to 17th.
LEFA Technical Director Mr. Lehlohonolo Thotanyana said 25 participants consisting of premier league coaches, all national teams from the senior national side Likuena to under 15 soccer side will be trained.
Mr. Thotanyana said two female coaches of Mehalalitoe will also be part of the course, adding that a facilitator will be drawn from the Netherlands, who is former World Cup star who also coached South African Premier League side Mamelodi Sundowns, Mr. Johan Neeskins.
He said the purpose of the course is to develop football, adding that while the Dutch would like to spread its football philosophy, LEFA is also prepared to look across the world to acquire skills to enhance the trainees’ chances to coach abroad. According to Mr. Thotanyana, the course which is the first of its kind to be staged in the country, is co-sponsored by LEFA, African Clean Energy and KNVB from Netherlands.
Meanwhile, LEFA Youth Desk Officer, Mr. Mohaila Letseka said 45 under 15 players from all the 10 districts of the country will have a winter training camp at Bambatha Ts’ita Sports Arena from June 26th, where there will be an official welcoming ceremony of the players who form the School of Excellence that began in 2016 with 55 players.
