Maseru – The Right Honourable the Prime Minister has declared government’s commitment to the declaration of assets, as it will assist them to blast corruption.
Dr. Motsoahae Thabane stated this when closing a three-day high level induction retreat held at Ha Mohale in Maseru, saying it is time for them to move from words to actions, and show commitment to change business as usual as it has no place in the current government.
He said the strategic approach towards reaching a common understanding on handling security matters demonstrates their resolve to uphold the rule of law, adding that service delivery should be the anchor of government machinery and should be their mandate.
He urged the ministers to guard against the erosion of the public purse and diversion of public resources from their intended purposes, and called upon each one of them to work hard towards meeting the set deadline of November 07, 2017 for Lesotho to have drawn a roadmap of full implementation of SADC decisions.
The Deputy Prime Minister Honourable Monyane Moleleki said the ministers acquired some skills from this induction on etiquette, safety, self-discipline and day to day running of office, while the Minister of Public Service Honourable Thesele ‘Maseribane said it is vital to stabilise Lesotho in order to attain peace and create employment.
The Minister of Labour and Employment Honourable Keketso Rants’o said they are prepared to complete their five-year term as they have put aside their differences and are ready to defeat the country’s challenges.
The theme for the induction retreat was ‘Strategic leadership: Towards Reformed Governance System’.
