Botha-Bothe – Storm Mountain Diamond SMD Mine handed over a three roomed building to be used as classroom to Shishila Primary School in Kao, Ha Shishila, Botha-Bothe.
Speaking at this event, the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Mining Mr. Soaile Mochaba said they are working hard to ensure that mines participate in community development projects within areas in which they operate.
He said the Ministry is proud to have witnessed the remarkable work that the mine has done for the Shishila community and thanked the mine for also helping government in the development of Basotho, calling for continued cooperation and good relationships with the community.
Meanwhile, the Mine’s Executive Manager Mr. Mohale Ralikariki said since the operation of the mine about eight years ago, they have had good relations with the Kao community despite some misunderstandings, adding that the three roomed building is not the first projects the mine has provided the school.
The school Principal Mr. Mojalefa Lesofe thanked the mine for the fully furnished classrooms, saying teaching two classes in one classroom was difficult and the classrooms are going to reduce congestion.
At the event, the mine also presented new pairs of school shoes to fifty children while the school was given garden tools.
