Maseru – Advocate Salemane Phafane King’s Counsel KC has retained his position as Lesotho Football Association LEFA President, during a special conference held in Maseru.
LEFA Public Relations Officer Mr. Thabo Maretlane said no one challenged the incumbent president and there was no point of voting, adding that Advocate Phafane has promised to establish subcommittees as part of speeding up services in all the Association’s constituencies so as to ensure that football is being promoted countrywide.
Mr. Maretlane said the special conference took place in the presence of FIFA and CAF Representative and former Zambia Football Association President Mr. Kalusha Bwala, as well as Lesotho Sport and Recreation Commission, Lesotho Mounted Police Service, and National Security Services.
There were also 45 delegates from LEFA structures countrywide that included ten District Football Associations, Premier League Management Committee, Women’s Football Committee and Lesotho Universities and Colleges Sports Association.
Advocate Phafane is the third LEFA President after the late Mr. Bambatha Ts’ita and Mr. Thabo Makakole and he will be at the helm until 2021.
