Maseru – Potential international investors at the recent 2017 Australian Africa Down Under Conference have been invited to come to Lesotho for unexplored and untapped mining opportunities.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Mining, Minister Keketso Sello extended the invitation at the 15th annual conference held in Perth, Western Australia, in an effort to improve Lesotho’s economy.
During the conference, the Minister assured participants that Lesotho is profiled as one of the top 10 high quality diamond producing countries in the world, and the country also mines a variety of industrial minerals such as dolerite, sand stones and clay.
Honourable Sello further mentioned ongoing methods of exploration activities aimed at discovering more minerals available in the country, such as the Geo-Chemical Mapping Project and the Remote sensing technique, in exploration for Rare Earth Elements and Platinum Group Elements.
