Maseru – The Minister of Education and Training Dr. Mahali Phamotse has received 30 computers consisting of 14 laptops and 16 desktops from Metropolitan Lesotho at an occasion held at the Teaching Services Department in Maseru.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Phamotse thanked the company saying the computers will help to improve services since the Department is faced with challenges in processing payments for retired teachers and those still in service.
She added that incidents of lost files will be a thing of the past as all the documents will be stored in computers, saying a huge number of Basotho who are Metropolitan clients are teachers and commended the company for acknowledging the support by giving back to the Department.
She promised that for enhancement of services, some of the computers will be given to District Resource Offices, and appealed to Metropolitan to encourage other companies to follow in their footsteps for the benefit of Basotho and Lesotho.
At the same occasion, Metropolitan Lesotho Managing Director Mr. Nkau Matete s urged the Ministry to work together with them to empower teachers and students for the betterment of the country, and hopes the friendship and partnership they have had for years will continue to have mutual benefits, especially for the teachers.
Also present were the Deputy Minister of Education Honourable Thabang Kholumo, Senior Officers of the Ministry and Teaching Service Commission.
