Royal Family Marks Queen’s Birthday

Maseru – Members of the Royal Family and the Roman Catholic Church RCC marked Her Majesty Queen ‘Masenate Mohato Seeiso’s 40th birthday with a church service that was held at the Royal Palace in Maseru.

Congratulating the Queen Archbishop Tlali Lerotholi of the RCC said 40 years is a spiritual time in every person’s life in which they should unite with God and thank Him for their lives, as God took 40 years to make Moses a better person and the Queen should also consider this as a period in which she should thank God for helping her to continue doing good to other people.

Archbishop Lerotholi wished her many more peaceful and joyous years and asked that she be faithful, courageous, loving, and prayerful and be full of integrity like some important women in the Bible, urging Basotho to keep praying and thanking God for protecting Her Majesty against all challenges.

Passing a vote of thanks on behalf of the family, the Principal Chief of Mokhotlong Chief Mathealira Seeiso said the greatest wisdom is to fear God and congratulated Her Majesty, charging her to continue looking after the elderly and needy people as that would please God who will in turn bless her family.

The church wrapped up the service by praying for Her Majesty and the Archbishop blessed and gave her a book as a gift.

Present at the event included Chief Justice Nthomeng Majara and the President of the Senate Chief Seeiso Bereng Seeiso.
