Maseru – The Minister of Social Development Honourable Molahlehi Letlotlo has bid farewell to 12 Orphans and Vulnerable Children who are visiting London on Thursday.
The Children are supported by Sentebale Charity Organisation and are visiting the founder Prince Harry, and will also participate in a concert which aims to raise funds for the Organisation.
Speaking at the event Honourable Letlotlo commended Sentebale for assisting the Ministry to ensure the welfare of Orphans and Vulnerable Children through its programmes, saying funds to be raised by the children in London will contribute immensely towards their welfare.
He urged the children to behave in a manner that will attract Prince Harry and his people as well as to raise Lesotho’s flag, pledging that the Ministry will support this kind of trip in future.
Sentebale Country Director, Mr. Tumisang Leduma said the children will also visit places of interest in London and learn more about mutual relations between Lesotho and London, saying the children will go to London with two representatives from Sentebale and two other people from Emmanuel and Mants’ase Children’s homes.
On behalf of the children, Ntebaleng Tseka thanked the organisation for the opportunity, saying the trip will mark history in their lives, adding that they will never forget the organisation for its support and changing their lives, and also thanked the Minister for taking them out to dinner.
Sentebale is a charity organisation founded by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso Bereng Seeiso to help the most vulnerable children in Lesotho to get support they need to lead healthy and productive lives.
It works with local grassroots organisations to help children who become victims of extreme poverty and Lesotho’s HIV and AIDS epidemic.
